Comparison Study of the Use of Paper Versus Digital Textbooks By Undergraduate Students – This was my dissertation research on paper versus digital textbooks.

Creating and Using Digital Textbooks in the Classroom – This was a presentation on creating digital textbooks for use in classes.

Graduate Students Reactions to Using Digital Textbooks -this was a study of graduate students’ experiences and opinions about using digital textbooks or e-books.

Using Joomla CMS in Education – Create a customized Content Management System (CMS) for schools, organizations and businesses using the Joomla Open Source Framework. This workshop taught participants how to install and manage their own Joomla CMS.

Utilizing Student Technicians – Schools can harness their own students to help support technology and provide high school students with an advanced computer science curriculum for credit and certifications in IT industry testing.

Open Source Software Use in Education – With rising IT costs and operating budgets being slashed, schools and businesses need alternatives to expensive software and infrastructure and free and open source software can help meet these demands.

Assistive Technologies in Education – Students who need instructional support can utilize several types of assistive technology software and hardware that can help them succeed in their schoolwork.

Creating a Classroom Blog – Teachers learn how to create a classroom blog to share information with students and parents and how to begin using social media in their teaching. This workshop featured using Google Picasa and Blogger to create a free blog. I have also taught this workshop using EduBlogs which is easier to use behind a K-12 school web filter.

Internet Security in Education – School administrators was the focus of this presentation to outline what technology directors must understand and support to keep students and faculty safe when using the Internet. Topics included Internet safety training, policies for computer use and protecting computers and servers in the schools.

BYOD – How to Implement Mobile Technology in the Classroom – How can we get more access to technology in our schools? Use mobile devices students already own for educational purposes. Learn about the Bring Your Own Device movement and popular mobile devices.

Introduction to Teaching Computer Science – Discover the different curriculum and learning activities that anyone can use to teach programming to all students. Best of all they are free and education-friendly!
